Description
| The kit compromises of laser cut plywood part for the planks and a FDM 3D printed frame.
The running gear is standard Binnie wheels, with steel axles and a set of our custom CNC machined brass bearings. There is also the option to upgrade to our CNC machined steel wheels. Each part of the kit has been produced by a process that is optimised for that part. The dimensions below are all maximum dimensions, so over couplings for the length and over any detailing parts on the outside for the width. The height is from the top of the rail, to the highest part of the vehicle. Length – 104mm The kit contains everything you need to build the van, including our detailed and illustrated instructions. The only thing the kit does not contain is any paints and adhesives. As with all of our kits, this has been designed to be a straight forward kit to build, perfect for beginners. It can be built and assembled as supplied to be a great representation of the Porthmadog Harbour Flat, or it can be “super-detailed” to add even more realism to your model, although, having said that, there doesn’t seem to be much more detail to add! Although there is little to no information about this wagon available, information about similar vehicles can be found on the Festipedia site here. Images of this and similar vehicles used around the harbour can be found on the Ffestiniog Railway Heritage Group’s Ibase website. The demonstration model is painted in Halford’s Matt Brown Camouflage paint.
