Description
This kit is for the Ffestiniog Railway’s Early brake van. There are no known photographs of these vehicles as they were built, but there are several photographs of how they were a few years later, with the “Sentry Box” on the balcony, which is what these vans later came to be known.
The kit was designed by measuring the FR’s replica Van 3 and then scaling it down to 16mm/ft. It comes complete with everything you need to construct the vehicle. You will only need the couplings hooks, eyes and a chain link to complete, along with appropriate paint and decals.
The kit in the photographs varies slightly from the kit supplied, it was the pre-production model given to a friend to construct. He has changed the handrail (one supplied in the kit it brass rod) and he has used different castings for the door handles.
