Description

The kit compromises of a laser cut plywood components to create a ‘standard’ Dinorwig underframe, with 3D Printed axleboxes and headstocks. The body of the slab wagon is one of the more basic ones, it compromises of 3 laser cut plywood parts!

Each part of the kit has been produced by a process that is optimised for that part.

The dimensions below are all maximum dimensions, so over couplings for the length and over any detailing parts on the outside for the width. The height is from the top of the rail.

Length –137mm
Width – 68mm
Height – 32mm
Gauge – 32mm or 45mm.

The kit contains everything you need to build the wagon, including our detailed and illustrated instructions. The only thing the kit does not contain is any paints, adhesives and decals.

As with all of our kits, this has been designed to be a straight forward kit to build, perfect for beginners. It can be built and assembled as supplied to be a great representation of one of the Dinorwig slab wagons, or it can be “super-detailed” to add even more realism to your model.

I have found the best source of images for the Dinorwig wagons is the Casgliad y Werin Cymru (People’s Collection Wales) website.

The display model has been painted with Rustoleum Red-Oxide primer and the black 3D printed parts are the raw, un-painted 3D prints. The planks have been stained with Rustins Dark Oak stain.
